Kids & young adults

For children and young people, the Cartoonmuseum Basel offers age-appropriate exhibition tours and workshops for every exhibition. The interactive guided tours encourage a better understanding of the art of drawing. In the workshops, participants draw under the guidance of an educator and reflect on the exhibition.

  • Summer workshops

    In our summer workshops there is a lot to discover, invent and create yourself around the themes of cartoons, comics, caricatures and animated films - just the thing for all children who are staying in Basel over the summer.

  • Cartoon Sunday & Open Studio

    Each exhibition includes a Sunday afternoon where the whole family can discover the world of comics, cartoons and animated films. Our imaginative and illustrative workshops can also be booked on your preferred date.

  • Children’s birthdays

    How about celebrating your birthday at the museum? Have your child choose their favourite workshop and invite up to fifteen other children. You bring your own special birthday cake. We organise snacks and drinks and offer a small gift for the birthday child. The workshop will begin with a short tour of the exhibition – adapted to the age the children. Afterwards, we will move to the studio, where the children start creating their own works of art. An unforgettable children & young people's birthday full of fun and ideas!
    Duration: 120 minutes

    Prices:
    Workshop (up to 16 children) CHF 280.–
    (plus CHF 7.– admission per child)
    Free of charge for children aged 10 or under.
    Outside normal opening hours,
    a special opening surcharge of CHF 100.– applies.
